Regular student attendance is important for student success. We appreciate the efforts that our Travis parents and guardians make to get their children at all grade levels to school each and every day. Our Attention2Attendance (A2A) program is making a difference in communicating and supporting families with critical and current information on school attendance.

Key Communicator Newsletter
Key Communicator Program
Superintendent Kate Wren Gavlak invites members of the Travis USD community to Serve as Key Communicators. The Key Communicator program involves a simple process in which the Superintendent sends periodic email updates about education issues. Key Communicators are then asked to disseminate the information through everyday interactions with friends, neighbors, colleagues, and customers, then report comments and concerns to the Superintendent through email. There are no meetings to attend; we simply ask that you help us keep informed of what our community thinks about a particular issue.

Interstate Compact
The Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunites for Military Children:
What is covered and what is not
Military families move between postings on a regular basis, which can be difficult for the children. The average military student faces transition challenges more than twice during high school and most military children will attend six to nine different school systems from kindergarten to 12th grade. The Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunities for Military Children, therefore, seeks to make transition easier for the children of military families so that they are afforded the same opportunities for educational success as other children, and are not penalized or delayed in achieving their educational goals. Details of the educational issues covered, and not covered, by the Compact can be found at the following link.
